The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has successfully smashed together 2 lead ions to create a mini big bang! Why the hell?… To create enviromental conditions a millisecond after the theoritical big bang theory which is said to of happened at the beggining of our universe, this experiment is aimed at answering questions about pretty much everything and to perhaps find the mysterous higgs boson (god particle).
“This process took place in a safe, controlled environment, generating incredibly hot and dense sub-atomic fireballs with temperatures of over ten trillion degrees, a million times hotter than the centre of the Sun” – Dr Evans.
The experiment itself was conducted under France/Switzerland at the LHC 27k tunnel complex, when the lead ions traveled at a very very fast speed and sucessfully collided the h eat generated was that of a million times hotter then the centre of our sun…hate to have a hole in what contains that right? wow!
